All the major business jet manufacturers displayed their product ranges at Singapore Airshow 2014, as the show returned to Changi International Airport during the second week of February.

With strong interest in south-east Asia from business jet and turboprop manufacturers alike, Singapore Airshow 2014 – the fourth installment of the biennial show – opened its doors during the first week of February 2014, with all the major business jet manufacturers seizing the opportunity to display their product lines.

Gulfstream displayed the company’s entire current product line, taking the G280 for its show debut and breaking a Hawaii to Singapore speed record with the G650 in the process. Gulfstream also took the opportunity to announce its Singapore-based sales team would be moving to new office in the city center.
Bombardier sent a Global 6000 and Challenger 605 to Singapore and held an opening ceremony at the nearby Seletar Airport for its first wholly-owned Asia-Pacific service centre.
Cessna are looking towards growth in South East Asia and took a reduced product line to the show, with just the Citation CJ4 and Sovereign+ on display. During the show, the Wichita-based airframer announced orders for three Citation CJ4s for the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau and that the worldwide Citation fleet has passed the 30 million mile marker.
Dassault displayed its Falcon 7X and Falcon 2000LXS at the show and revealed that they would deliver the first Indonesian Falcon 2000LXS before the end of the year.
Nextant took its re-manufactured Nextant 400XTi business jet to the show and announced the first aircraft Nextant delivery into Australia.
Execujet displayed at the show for the first time and took the opportunity to let the world know that it has added the first Australasian-based Gulfstream G650 to its managed fleet of aircraft. The company also announced that its Malaysian division had gained EASA Part 145 certification and its Bali operation will shortly be moving into a bigger facility.
Hawker Pacific had a busy show this year, displaying an Embraer Legacy 600 that its brokerage business has on its books. Continuing on with the Embraer theme, the company also announced that it will be supporting the Brazilian airframer’s Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 business jets in Asia-Pacific. The company also took the chance to showcase its business jet painting facilities at Seletar Airport, reporting an increase in demand for the service.
After Singapore Airshow 2014, the show will return in February 2016.
