Appointed by presidential decree, Syria-born Hosari announced the news via a post on his X account.

“I begin today my duties,” Hosari stated in the post. “At a critical and pivotal moment in Syria’s modern journey.”

He said the role will not be limited to management of the sector and will also focus on building the future of a “strategic sector” that serves as Syria’s gateway to the world.
