MHS Aviation forms partnership with Elangeni

German charter provider MHS Aviation has forged a partnership with Vienna-based commercial airline Elangeni, in a bid to attract business jet owners to manage and operate their assets with the company. Elangeni recently received its AOC (Air Operator Certificate A-163) and operating licence from Austro Control – the air navigation services provider that controls Austrian airspace.
Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer, flight operations manager at MHS and founder of Elangeni, said: “We are pleased to take this step towards MHS’expansion into this dynamic region of Eastern Europe. MHS has an excellent market know-how, reputation and customer base. With the new base and AOC in Austria, we offer a fresh and innovative home for business jet owners.”
Elangeni will operate under Austrian AOC and share its fleet with MHS. “Elangeni will be the first operator to openly disclose and share such benefits with its clients, secured in the management agreements with aircraft owners”, said Lichtner-Hoyer.
Steffen Fries, CEO at MHS, said: “Initially, we have based a Cessna Citation CJ2+ at Vienna Airport. While MHS will continue to offer its services out of Germany, operating aircraft types like Gulfstream 550, Falcon 2000LX, Embraer Praetor, Bombardier Global Express, Challenger 604, CL300 and Learjet 45XR, as well as several Dornier 328-100.
“Our move to Vienna is based on our belief that the Austrian market deserves a serious and trustworthy alternative. We are making unprecedented commitments to our future clients and are convinced that the quality of our services will attract them,” added Fries.
