Comlux receives STC for Airbus ACJ 220 cabin

Airbus' ACJ TwoTwenty offers 12 hours of non-stop range.
Indianapolis-based cabin outfitting firm Comlux America said it has received a supplemental type certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty cabin, in collaboration with DOA21, a subsidiary of the Comlux Group and a design organization approval holder.
This type certification allows DOA21 to certify the design modifications of Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft cabins in compliance with FAA regulations of safety and airworthiness standards.
With dual certification now secured from both European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the FAA, Comlux America is positioned to make ACJ TwoTwenty cabin available to clients throughout North America as well.
This latest certification further reinforces Comlux America’s experience within the FAA approval framework, following its previous certification of the very first Boeing BBJ MAX 8 cabin under FAA oversight.
“The entire philosophy of the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty program has been to anticipate the customer’s needs and offer a product ready to meet their expectations. While no ACJ TwoTwenty to date is on the N register, today marks the biggest step forward in ensuring when this comes, it will be a timely, straightforward process,” said Adam White, CEO Comlux America.
Comlux said this award represents an important extension of its certification capabilities, enabling the company to offer approved modification solutions to a broader customer base.
