High Flying Hangars breaks ground at Frederick Airport

Hangars will be available in five sizes ranging from 1,245sqft to 8,000sqft.
High Flying Hangars has broken ground on an 11.45-acre hangar development at Frederick Municipal Airport in Maryland.
The development will occur in two phases at midfield within the airport layout. Phase 1 includes 44 hangars and a Hangar Club clubhouse featuring a meeting room, commercial kitchen, patio, sky deck, and high-speed internet. Phase 2 will add approximately 34 hangars.
“The Frederick airport team looks forward to working with High Flying Hangars to make this project a reality and welcome new aviators into our FDK community. This project represents a significant investment into the growth story of the Frederick Municipal Airport as the preferred access point to the region,” said airport manager Andrew Moore.
“As Maryland’s fastest-growing city, Frederick is a community on the move,” said Kenny Hinkes, CEO of High Flying Hangars. “These hangars are another step in ensuring that the airport continues to serve the needs of a vibrant and expanding community.”
Hangars will be available in five sizes ranging from 1,245sqft to 8,000sqft, featuring Diamond Bi-Fold Doors and Smart Door security technology. Larger units will include in-unit bathrooms, wash basins and in-floor drainage. All units include LED lighting, insulated steel construction, polished concrete floors and infrared heating.
The development comes as demand for hangar space in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area continues to outpace supply.
