Stobart Aviation, part of a group of companies best known for logistics, has opened a new FBO at London’s Southend Airport. The group owns the airport, as well as Carlisle Lake District Airport.

Set to the east of London, Southend Airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and, unlike other airports in the region, does not have any slot controls. It has also won an award for the best airport in London for five years in a row.

“Always at the heart of our thinking for this new private terminal has been to provide our customers with the utmost convenience, speed and comfort. We will be also offering the most competitive prices in the London business and private aviation market,” said Stephen Grimes, managing director of Stobart Jet Centre. “The Stobart Jet Centre will give guests and pilots a smooth, premium experience because we can provide 24-hour availability and departure routes outside London’s crowded airspace.”

The new FBO has onsite customs and immigration officers, as well as a fully stocked VIP lounge. Arriving passengers have a range of options for onward travel, including helicopter transfers that take ten minutes.

Stobart Aviation says that fees for using the facility are some of the lowest in the London area.
