Gulfstream Aerospace has revealed its new, super-midsize Gulfstream G300 as the latest addition to its next-generation fleet.

The new $28.9m aircraft combines trans-Atlantic range with short-field capability and a range of 3,600nm (6,667km) at Mach 0.80 or 3,000nm (5,556km) at Mach 0.84.

With a maximum cruise altitude of 45,000ft (13,716m), the G300 is said to have the lowest cabin altitude in its class at 4,800ft (1,463m) when flying at 41,000ft (12,497m). It is also equipped with a 100% fresh air, a plasma ionization air purification system.

It also claims the longest cabin in its class with two living areas and the capacity to accommodate up to 10 passengers.

Replacing the G280, the new G300 features panoramic oval windows and the manufacturer’s new Harmony Flight Deck, which includes next-generation avionics designed to enhance safety and operational efficiency.

The G300 Harmony Flight Deck includes six touch screens, paired with Phase-of-Flight intelligence designed to deliver intuitive technology to pilots. A Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display depicts runways and terrain in 3D imagery to boost pilots’ situational awareness and the OEM’s Predictive Landing Performance System dynamically displays the runway stopping point in real time.

Speaking from the manufacturer’s Discover the Difference event today in Savannah, Georgia, Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream said: “Fuelled by a decade of investment and our future-forward approach, the Gulfstream next-generation fleet offers our customers the most innovative family of aircraft.”

He added: “We know how important the super-midsize cabin segment is to our customers, so building on the highly successful G280 programme, the G300 will re-energize the category with its heightened technology and safety enhancements, alongside the legendary comfort and styling of a Gulfstream.”

The event featured a full-scale mock-up of the new aircraft alongside photographs of the first aircraft in production.

The G300 is powered by high-thrust Honeywell engines, coupled with the clean, swept Gulfstream wing to support fuel-efficiency, says the OEM.

Taxying tests are now underway and construction of the second and third aircraft has begun. The aircraft is built in Israel, completed in Dallas, Texas and serviced in Savannah. The first customer delivery is scheduled for the beginning of 2027.

Burns told reporters: “It’s our endeavour to be a Gulfstream for every mission. So, the G400 is a larger airplane, a little bit longer range, the G300 keeps us in that super-midsize segment. We’ve been investing in that segment for quite a number of years through the G280. This is the opportunity to create an all-new aircraft for that market.”

Meanwhile, Gulfstream has completed nearly 22,000 hours of testing at its lab facilities, which includes an Integration Test Facility (ITF) with Iron Bird (full-scale, structural aircraft mock-up), capability. The facility conducted its ‘first flight’ last month and has logged nearly 2,000 ground test hours on the first aircraft as well as started manufacturing two additional test aircraft.
