Maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company Flying Colours has completed a 240-month heavy inspection on a Bombardier Global Express aircraft.

In addition, the firm completed scheduled restoration tasks and a landing gear overhaul to fulfill the mandatory inspection package. Flying Colours also gave the aircraft a sparkling paint job using mica-infused paint with a specialty basecoat-clearcoat polyurethane paint.

“We have extensive experience working on Global airframes, which means our maintenance team can anticipate common issues and unexpected requirements that may occur,” said Eric Gillespie, executive vice president, Flying Colours. “This knowledge gives our clients the confidence that we conduct rigorous inspections throughout the heavy check process. We know what to look for and how to resolve any issues.”

Conducting all the work at one location saved the client money and cuts down on AOG time, he added.

Each 240-month inspection involves completely stripping the aircraft down to the frame to check for signs of stress fractures and corrosion.

The maintenance firm also works on Dassault, Gulfstream and Textron aircraft. In June, Flying Colours strengthened its senior leadership team by appointing Joe Thurman to general manager at its St Louis base.
