Global 5000 interiorAmira Air has announced that
it is the first operator worldwide of the new Bombardier Global 5000 featuring
the Vision Flight Deck. The Vision Flight Deck is designed to enhance comfort
and reduce pilot fatigue. Amira Airs’ new Global 5000 offers space to 12
passengers and 3 crew members.

The German operator said it is delighted to be
the first operator to receive the aircraft equipped with the new flight deck.

Bombardier says its Global Vision Flight Deck has been
developed to combine the best technological advancements with design aesthetics
to provide an integrated flight deck which ensures interoperability between
systems and one of the largest field-of-views of any business aircraft. The system features four
high-resolution 15-inch diagonal active matrix LCD displays arranged in a
T-shape.

“The Vision Flight Deck
is the realisation of many years of efforts with the avionics partner Rockwell
Collins and an industry first, featuring the implementation and certification
of Synthetic Vision imagery on a head-up display (HUD),” said Steve
Ridolfi, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Amira Air team leader sales
Christian Schmadlbauer said “We are proud to be the first operator to receive
this Global 5000 equipped with this brand new flight deck. It integrates
perfectly with out fleet and adds to the different capacity and distance
options we can offer our clients. The Global 5000 Vision can fly close to 5,200
nautical miles (9,630km) at Mach 0.85, this means that we can offer non-stop
flights between Vienna and New
York or Tokyo.”
