ARINC Direct is highlighting ADConnect, its new aviation softphone application for iPhone and Android smartphone users at the NBAA in Orlando.

The app provides the business aircraft traveller with a bridge between his or her personal communication device and the advanced communication technology available on business jets.

ADConnect customers will have the ability to make and receive voice calls using their personal smart phones onboard the aircraft.

The app is compatible with all aircraft wireless avionics technologies connected to INMARSAT (Swift64/Swift Broadband, classic Aero), Yonder and Iridium satellite services. ARINC Direct contracted with CounterPath, experts in innovative SIP-based softphones, server applications and Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) solutions to develop the branded SIP phone client for both iPhone and Android users.

“This app allows business jet travelers who need to stay connected when they fly to easily reach both business and personal contacts anywhere in world using their personal smart phone, conveniently from the seat of their business aircraft,” said Bob Richard, senior director, ARINC Direct. “In addition, its dynamic and automated custom provisioning allows customers to have individual call configurations per aircraft tail number within their fleet.”
