Bank of America Leasing global corporate aircraft finance hires Alex Badran in London to grow international sales.

Alex Badran has joined Bank of America Leasing as managing director and head of sales for international corporate aircraft finance. He is responsible for sales in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Badran will work from the bank’s London office and reports to Phil Perkins, head of EMEA asset finance origination.

“Alex has a wealth of experience, relationships and knowledge of the aircraft finance industry,” commented Perkins. “I am confident that with continued support from director Toennies von Limburg, Alex will accelerate the development of our international corporate aircraft business, bring new sales talent on board, and develop our global origination and execution capabilities.”

Badran joins from Cessna Finance, where he was senior vice president in Global Aviation Finance for EMEA and Asia Pacific. He joined the manufacturer from Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate Jet Capital where he was head of sales. Royal Bank of Scotland chose to withdraw from corporate jet finance after the bank was forced to ask for UK government support. It is also looking to sell its commercial aircraft leasing business. The bank does however offer some corporate jet finance through its Lombard subsidiary in Redhill, outside London.

Before joining RBS, he was director and head of corporate aircraft finance, Europe at GE Capital.

“Having in-country leadership with expertise in closing corporate and high net worth individual lease and debt transactions, is essential for the growth of our business,” says Michael Amalfitano, executive head of Banc of America Leasing global corporate aircraft finance. “Alex has both the experience and the industry network necessary to leverage Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s local client base and product capabilities. I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
