Fourth Front Aviation acquires D&J Aviation

Fourth Front Aviation has acquired D&J Aviation in Colorado Springs, rebranding the operation as Fourth Front Aviation Colorado and expanding its national aviation services network to a second location at City of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (KCOS).
The acquisition adds a Part 145 repair station, Garmin, Avidyne and Aspen dealerships, and a team with decades of experience in avionics and special mission systems integration. Services include piston, turboprop and light jet maintenance, advanced sensor and communications integration and wildfire air attack and government agency support.
D&J was built by Jim Schwab over several decades, with a focus on avionics and specialised sensor and radio system integration across piston, turboprop and light jet aircraft.
Co-founders Greg Wellman and Tom Schaefer said the deal marks “an important milestone” in Fourth Front’s growth as a national platform.
“We’ve got some exciting projects coming up this summer, and we’re growing quickly,” added Schaefer.
Fourth Front’s flagship location is at Santa Monica Airport (KSMO). The company said the Colorado Springs operation positions it to serve aircraft owners, operators, government agencies and mission-focused organisations across the Rocky Mountain region.
