W Aviation has added the FBO at the Queen Beatrix International Airport in Aruba to its FBO network.

W Aviation, based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, has taken over the existing FBO and started operating from it on 1 January 2018 as the sole fixed based operator at the airport.

The FBO facility has an executive terminal and ramp space for aircraft parking to handle all inbound and outbound general aviation traffic for the entire island.

W Aviation will be investing $1.8 million for interior refurbishment and major improvements to the existing property starting this year. Improvements will include a refurbished passenger lobby, customer service area, bistro bar, VIP passenger lounges, executive conference rooms, pilots lounge, and a flight planning room.

“We are thrilled to announce our newest facility in Aruba and the continued expansion of our FBO network. This is a milestone for our company, as it not only gives us the opportunity to support our existing global charter fleet in the Caribbean but also allows us to handle all of the GA traffic on the island.”

Ignacio Martinez, chief executive office of W Aviation, said: “We are thrilled to announce our newest facility in Aruba and the continued expansion of our FBO network. This is a milestone for our company, as it not only gives us the opportunity to support our existing global charter fleet in the Caribbean but also allows us to handle all of the GA traffic on the island. Aruba is the only non-US Caribbean island with US pre-clearance customs, making it an ideal stop for aircraft traffic from South America and the Caribbean destined for the United States.”

W Aviation Aruba will operate as a full-service FBO, offering into-plane fueling, handling, ancillary services, customer service, concierge, aircraft parking, customs support and ground handling.

W Aviation is a division of the Windsor Group, based in Fort Lauderdale. The company now operates three FBOs located in Fort Lauderdale, Caracas in Venezuela, and Oranjestad in Aruba.
