TAM Aviação Executiva installs Galileo HDX on Phenom 300 on own certification

TAM AE is already certified for Gogo Galileo installations on Cessna Citation variants including the CJ line, Sovereign and Latitude.
TAM Aviação Executiva has become the first company in Brazil to install the Gogo Galileo HDX inflight connectivity system on an Embraer Phenom 300, using a supplemental type certificate (STC) developed entirely in-house and approved by Brazil’s civil aviation authority, ANAC.
The certification, known in Brazil as a CST (Certificado Suplementar de Tipo), allows TAM AE to perform the installation for its own clients and also license the certification to other operators seeking to carry out the same upgrade on their Phenom 300 aircraft.
The installed system uses Gogo’s electronically scanned array (ESA) antenna connected to a low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, delivering speeds of up to 60 Mbps. The system is suited to both light jets and larger cabin aircraft.

“More than a technical achievement, the project highlights the integrated capability of the entire TAM AE Service Centre, which worked in a coordinated manner from the conception of the solution through to regulatory approval, testing and final installation,” said Wellington Amorim, director of TAM AE’s Service Centre.
“For the customer, this translates into concrete advantages – access to a high-speed, locally certified solution, executed by teams that mastered every stage of the process, with greater schedule predictability, specialised technical support, and the confidence of working with a company that brings together engineering, certification and installation in a single ecosystem.”
Founded 65 years ago as Táxi Aéreo Marília, TAM Aviação Executiva is Brazil’s leading business aircraft dealer and the world’s largest representative for both Bell and Textron Aviation.
Its service centre network spans Belo Horizonte, Goiânia, and Jundiaí with latter being the largest business aviation maintenance facility in Latin America, covering more than 20,000sqm and holding certifications from ANAC, the FAA, and civil aviation authorities in Chile, Argentina and Paraguay.
