WINGX Advance: European “Growth has once again stuttered”

Bad news: Departures down 1.5% on August 2014, down 6% compared to August 2008

Germany up 4% (with private flights up 15%. Italy down 8%. Turkey down 9%. Russia down 20%. Vnukovo-Nice (Europe’s busiest charter route down by a third).

Good news: Ultra-long range, very long range and super midsize flights up. Ulta-long range flights increasing as heavy jet use fell. Phenom 300 and Challenger 300 flights almost doubled. Turboprop exceeded 2008 peaks.

“Growth has once again stuttered in the European market. Italy was particularly weak, and clearly the collapse in the CIS market has undermined the VIP tourist season this year,” says Richard Koe, managing director of WINGX Advance. “At the aggregate level, charter demand was relatively soft this summer.”
