JetSmarter launches European corporate jet seat app

JetSmarter the Uber-style corporate jet booking service has launched its European JetShuttle service that will allow customers to book empty seats on private flights for as little as £150.
Passengers will be able to search for vacant seats by tapping an app on their smartphone. The app will offer single-seat trips for both members and non-members of the service.
JetSmarter, which started in the US three years ago, and has been backed by rapper Jay Z, has opened routes between London, Paris and Geneva. The company will offer flights to Nice from May and Moscow later this year.
The app will allow passengers to book flights on a pay-as-you-go basis but will also offer an annual membership allowing unlimited travel for $9,000.
JetSmarter has raised nearly £40 million from the Saudi royal family and other investors to fund the service.
“Due to the vast success of Jetsmarter in the US and the Middle East, we are expanding the JetShuttle service throughout Europe, and are excited to broaden consumers’ access to it,” said Sergey Petrossov, founder and chief executive of JetSmarter. “With the convenience of these private flights between popular destinations, we are proud to be the first to offer this transportation option. Our community expands to Europe.”
The company has offices in Zurich, London, Moscow, Dubai, Riyadh and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
It has stated that more than 15,000 people in the UK have downloaded the app and the service is expected to operate in 150 cities within two years.
