Jet Aviation St Louis signs first BBJ project
Jet Aviation has announced that its Jet Aviation St Louis facility will start its first BBJ in April 2013 for scheduled maintenance and interior upgrades. The project includes the first installation of Boeing’s enhanced vision system service bulletins for an aircraft in private use.
Jet Aviation has been preparing for the work by sending technicians to Boeing and to Jet Aviation Basel, Switzerland.
“Teams of technicians have been sent to Basel to work side-by-side with their colleagues there,” said Chuck Krugh, senior vice president and general manager, Jet Aviation St Louis.
Krugh continued “The hands-on knowledge gained means we have an experienced team to satisfy this client’s high expectations. We also will augment our already capable maintenance, interior and avionics groups with Basel technicians to provide the professional care and expertise our BBJ customers deserve.”
The Boeing Business Jet will undergo its 12-year inspection and gear overhaul. Additionally, some interior surfaces of the aircraft will be refinished and some headliner panels will be recovered. An enhanced vision system will be installed in compliance with a series of Boeing service bulletins.
“This project is a significant first for us. The client was impressed by our partnership with Basel and by our one-stop shop capabilities,” added Krugh.
