Gulfstream appoints Paul Lu

30 year aviation veteran promoted

Paul LuGulfstream Aerospace has announced the appointment of Paul Lu, director, product support in Asia.  Lu, who speaks Cantonese and some Mandarin, will be based in Hong Kong. In this position, Lu’s duties include all aspects of product support, including helping operators within and transitioning through Asia.  He supports new aircraft sales, materials, certifications and Gulfstream’s relationship with the Civil Aviation Administration of China. He will report to Barry Russell, vice president, Customer Support.

“With the growth of our fleet in Asia, this position takes on added significance,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support.  “Paul’s extensive international and business aviation experience will enhance the efficiency of the Gulfstream support network for Asian customers.  Paul has long-standing relationships with operators in Asia, and with his knowledge of the language and culture, he is a tremendous asset to Gulfstream.”

Since August 2008, Lu was based in Southern California, where he was the on-site program
manager for Gulfstream’s new flagship aircraft, the G650.  In serving as the liaison for key Gulfstream suppliers in Southern California, he was responsible for overseeing the design, test, certification, quality and reliability of parts and components supplied to Gulfstream.

A 30-year veteran of the business aviation
industry, Lu has been with Gulfstream for 15 years.

Lu earned a bachelor’s degree in aviation
from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, a
master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University
in Daytona Beach, and a doctorate in business
administration from Nova Southeastern University
in Fort Lauderdale.
