Gama Aviation Hutchison (Hong Kong) has formally announced the start of its general sales agent collaboration with China Aircraft Services Ltd.

The partnership was unveiled during a ceremony at CASL’s facility in Hong Kong last week. It gives Gama Aviation exclusive permission to sell CASL’s business jet maintenance services in Asia, and has already received approvals from the Federal Aviation Authority and the Civil Aircraft Authority of the Cayman Islands for the main aircraft types that operate in the region – the Gulfstream G350/450, G500/550 and G650/650ER, and the Bombardier Global BD-700 series.

The companies are waiting for approvals from the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department. They say the approvals are “imminent”.

CASL CEO Angus Cheung said the collaboration with Gama Aviation was a “perfect blend of maintenance expertise, operational know-how, and type knowledge”.

He added: “This is a historic year for CASL as we add further capability to our strong commercial aviation maintenance platform. We’re very excited to end the year in such a strong position, with a relevant and compelling offer to business jet owners in the region.”

And Gama Aviation CEO Marwan Khalek said the deal marked “a new era” for the company, owners and crews in the region. “We could not want for better partners in CASL and I fully believe we have the means to deliver a game-changing proposition.

“For many owners and crews, the inconvenience, cost and unnecessary engine and airframe hours of flying to alternate service facilities has ended. Now Hong Kong has the capability and we are proud to represent this through our unique collaboration.”
