Freestream appoints Mauro D’Angelo to sales team

Freestream Aircraft has appointed former US federal officer Mauro D’Angelo to its aircraft sales team.
Effective March 1st 2026, D’Angelo brings more than two decades of service in the US intelligence community combined with “deep” civil aviation experience.
Alireza Ittihadieh, president and CEO, Freestream Aircraft said: “I have known Mauro since my early days in the industry. His integrity, his depth of knowledge across both civil aviation and international affairs and his singular ability to build trust across cultures and institutions are qualities that are simply rare. We are proud and genuinely excited to welcome him to the Freestream family.”
A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the National Defense University — holding a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and an MA in Strategic Studies — D’Angelo has spent most of his career at the intersection of national security and international affairs.
As a senior federal officer, he established and managed relationships across the intelligence community, the US government, the private sector and academia.
Prior to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, D’Angelo served as an executive and commercial aircraft trader based in the Washington DC area, before relocating to Europe and playing a role in establishing what would become Italy’s largest private airline Air One. Recruited to federal service during the post-9/11 Intelligence Surge, he has continued to serve the US since that time.
