FAA certifies Bombardier Global 8000

Bombardier’s Global 8000 business jet has received FAA certification, the Canadian OEM announced on Friday.
The certification follows Transport Canada (TC) type certification, received on November 5th. Certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is pending.
“This accomplishment is a direct result of the commitment to excellence and dedicated work of our highly skilled employees, suppliers, Transport Canada and the FAA for a collaborative, effective process,” Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Product Development, Bombardier.
With the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation production at 2,691ft, Bombardier likens the experience of cruising at 41,000ft to standing atop the Burj Khalifa.
The Global 8000 has a top speed of Mach 0.95 and offers a range of 8,000nm.
The aircraft entered service earlier this month when Patrick Dovigi accepted the keys to his new aircraft, while Canadian rock star Tom Cochrane presented by Rolling Stone Canada performed at a ceremony at Bombardier’s assembly centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
