Choosing a lender is just as complicated as choosing a business jet or helicopter – but not as much fun.
One of the biggest changes in business aircraft finance since 2008 has been the increased specialism of aircraft lenders. In the past banks would regularly compete across all different asset classes and borrowers. Now lenders have much tighter criteria. Private banks, for example, only want to finance ultra high net worth individuals and are not interested in financing charter companies.
Business jet finance is becoming increasingly available, but it is important for borrowers to find financiers that specialise in the type of deal they are looking for.
