Richard Berkemeier, ASA, Senior Appraiser at Pegasus Aircraft Appraisal Group, began his one-year term as International President for the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) effective July 1, 2022.
Mr. Berkemeier graduated from Cincinnati University and completed his required course of study for appraisal accreditation through ASA’s Appraisal Review & Management and Machinery & Technical Specialties program. He joined ASA in 1994 and earned his Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in 2000. Richard has held many leadership positions, including most notably serving on ASA’s Board of Examiners, as International Vice President of ASA’s Board of Governors, as well as past Chair of ASA’s International Education Committee, ASA’s Budget and Finance Committee, and ASA’s Machinery & Technical Specialties Discipline Committee. He was also previously a member of ASA’s International Marketing Committee.
As an established senior appraiser, Richard owned and operated Pegasus Aircraft Appraisal Group, one of the world’s largest aircraft, helicopter, and parts appraisal firms, for more than 14 years. His strong passion for appraisal, valuation, and economic proposition related to aircraft and his expertise on this subject matter have taken him around the world, educating groups at the Big-4, Marsh, DLL, and many other businesses across six continents. He has taught appraisal classes in Russia, England, Japan, Australia, Germany, Korea, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Canada.
Richard’s experience has included appraisals for many corporate jets, rare aircraft, helicopters, military planes, engines, spare parts, and simulators. He has been referred to as the “Appraiser to the Stars” and assisted high-profile individuals, sometimes involved in divorce cases, and has served as an industry expert witness.
Richard is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Helicopter Association International (HAI), the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), and has been a featured speaker at many industry events. He is a life member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, a former board member with the Peace Museum, and a member of Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II Finance Committee. Mr. Berkemeier graduated from Piqua Central High School and the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Berkemeier is also an avid collector of the works of James Ingram Merrill and William Congdon.
Neil is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), the leading independent provider of maintenance support and financial tools for the business aviation industry. Hardy Bütschi was appointed as Regional Vice President MRO & FBO Operations Middle East GM Dubai in 2018. He also holds responsibility for the strategic growth and development of new capabilities in the region.
Bütschi joined Jet Aviation in 2004 as Director of Sales & Deputy Director of Customer Support. He went on to hold further roles as Director of Sales in Customer Support & Maintenance Planning, and Vice President/ General Manager/ Accountable Manger in both Saudi Arabia and Dubai, before assuming his current position.
Bütschi has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, beginning his career as a polytechnical engineer apprentice for Pilatus Aircraft in Switzerland. He holds a number of certifications, including an MBA with a major in strategy from the University of Strathclyde, MSc. in Business Administration with a major in marketing from the University of Wales, and has completed an Advanced Management Program (AMP) with Harvard Business School in the US.
James Carroll is part of Duncan Aviation’s Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team, representing international clients in the purchase and sale of business aircraft. Based in the UK, and with the backing of Duncan Aviation’s global network, market intelligence, and comprehensive in-house capabilities, he supports clients through the complexities of business jet transactions.
Prior to this, James held the position of Head of MRO Sales for Gama Aviation, overseeing the Sales team within the group for Base and Line maintenance on both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Working from Gama Aviation’s main maintenance facility at Bournemouth Airport in the UK, its Farnborough Headquarters, and its new flagship UAE facility in Sharjah, James also represented Gama Aviation at industry events and promoted the brand worldwide. During his time at Gama Aviation, James sold both small and heavy maintenance checks, aircraft upgrades, and oversaw a number of pre-purchase Inspections for buyers, sellers, and brokers.

James started his aviation career at BAA Heathrow where he was promoted to Duty Manager of Terminal 4 and then held the position of Crisis Manager for the online travel company lastminute.com. James holds a BA Honours Degree in French and Spanish, is an accredited Senior Aircraft Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, serves on the Board of Directors for the British Business & General Aviation Association, and enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family in his spare time.
Youcef is an ISTAT Certified Appraiser based in Ascend by Cirium’s London Heathrow office.
Prior to Cirium, Youcef worked with an array of clients including lessors, financiers, lawyers, operators and OEMs delivering fixed-wing aircraft valuations for a variety of assets including commercial aircraft, business jets and light GA aircraft. In addition to fixed-wing assets, Youcef has experience valuing intangible airport landing slots and has served as an expert witness in court concerning the diminution in value due to damage history. Youcef holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree in Aircraft Engineering from Kingston University, London. Youcef completed the EASA B1 Aircraft Engineering License course at KLM UK Engineering Technical College in conjunction with his degree.

After completing his education, David embarked on a dynamic career in aviation with his father “The Godfather of Aircraft Registries” Sir Jorge Colindres. His expertise and dedication quickly earned him recognition within the industry.
David’s passion for aviation and his desire to contribute to the industry’s growth led him to transition within five (5) years to a role as VP of Operations of The Registry of Aruba. He joined the aviation regulatory arena of Aruba, where he played a key role in shaping aviation policies and overseeing the registration and certification of aircraft. Simon Davies is the VP Sales, UK, Middle East, and India, for Global Jet Capital. Simon has been with Global Jet Capital since its inception. With over thirty years of aviation finance experience, Simon has savoured the opportunity to originate and structure private aircraft financing for Global Jet Capital’s clients in many different jurisdictions.
Before joining Global Jet Capital, Simon was part of the team that launched Guggenheim Aviation Finance Company. Simon had responsibility for the International Sales team, providing asset-backed financing solutions to emerging markets. Prior to this, Simon ran the Bombardier Business Aircraft Structured Finance team, helping to source financing for Bombardier’s diverse clients on a global footprint.

Neil Engerran has two decades of aviation specific recruitment experience covering all areas of business and commercial aviation on a global level, having been based in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and now the United States for the past eleven years. Neil has both a substantial agency background, plus he helped establish the separate Talent Acquisition function for Jet Aviation, Americas, in 2017. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of all aviation and non-aviation specific roles, plus extensive data on the salaries and benefits that allow an employer to be competitive and how to market jobs effectively. Neil now heads up Aircraft Commerce Recruitment, a recruitment agency based in Florida, USA, and Horsham, UK, providing full-time placements and talent acquisition consultancy services to aviation companies worldwide.
Francesco is a Partner in HFW’s Aerospace team, based in the Riyadh office. His practice covers a broad range of aviation-related contentious and non-contentious work, with a primary focus on liability, regulatory and commercial matters. He regularly acts for airlines, GA operators, airports, ground handlers and other aviation stakeholders, as well as their aviation insurers. He has been involved in several high-profile and multi-jurisdictional matters, including major aviation losses in the Middle East and Africa.
Francesco has been based in the Middle East for over a decade. Prior to joining HFW, he served as legal counsel in a major airline based in the region, where he led the regulatory and litigation function. Shareef Ghaleb Kattan is a seasoned aviation and business executive with extensive

he oversees private charter, aircraft management and leasing, aircraft sales, and global trip

Shareef has held senior leadership roles with major aviation operators including NetJets
Europe, VistaJet, and The Jetsets, where he specialized in fractional ownership programs,

Following a management career in the manufacturing industry Marwan started Gama Aviation Ltd in 1983 in the UK with his business partner Stephen Wright. Marwan continues to take a very active and hands on role in all aspects of the group’s development and has also headed the group’s expansion into the US market.

Ben Newman is Head of Commercial for Inflite the Jet Centre, having joined the company in January 2024 following a distinguished career as a Logistics Officer in the Royal Air Force. During his time in the RAF, Ben undertook an operational tour in Afghanistan, where he further developed his leadership and organisational skills, managing vital operations in challenging environments.
Since moving into the private sector, Ben has focused his efforts on Inflite the Jet Centre, one of the Group’s leading companies, and has quickly become a highly valued and driven member of the team. Ben Newman is actively involved in both the General Aviation and Commercial Aviation sectors, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, identifying emerging market opportunities, and leading business development initiatives.
Liam began his career as part of the Shannon Airport Operations team before furthering his experience with the global trip support company, Universal Aviation.
During this time, Liam held a variety of roles from Operations, Training and Safety and eventually FBO Manager. He was also responsible for the development of training and compliance programs.
Liam spent several years with Westair Aviation, one of Irelands leading charter and aircraft management companies, holding the position of Director of Ground Operations. He was responsible for day-to-day logistics, flight scheduling and acting as liaison between aircraft owners, charter clients & the management company.
Since joining Alliance in 2023, Liam has been responsible for the day-to-day FBO operations in both Shannon and Dublin, ensuring seamless hangar management and ground support services for corporate aviation clients.
Liam also serves as a board member of the Irish Business and General Aviation Association, working alongside industry leaders helping to advance industry best practices and representing the interests of operators, owners and service providers within Ireland.
Tom is the Managing Director of Gama Aviation’s FBO business line. Based at Gama’s Middle East HQ in Sharjah, he is accountable for the groups FBO locations in Sharjah, Jersey and Glasgow. In addition, he deals with other commercial aspects such as Aircraft Management in the Region.

Capt. Sakeer Sheik is the Founder and Managing Director of Titan Aviation, a leading Aircraft Management and Charter Sales company headquartered in the USA with operations spread across worldwide.
Capt Sakeer Sheik who is driven by passion and love for Aviation is one of the youngest Pilot to own an aircraft in India and started his career in the mid 1990’s with a Pilot Training Academy (Flight School).

He has also been a strong proponent of flight safety and safety management system, and had worked hard to steer owners and customers away from grey charter market.
Graham joined IBA in 2021 and is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing client relationships across IBA’s business. He has had a varied career with over 20 years in aviation, finance and media related roles. He joins IBA from Doric Partners LLP, the aircraft lessor, where he was responsible for investor coverage aircraft acquisition.
Graham’s role encompasses all elements of Advisory with a focus on the Investor Markets & Asset Management.
Zoe has extensive experience advising airlines, owners, lenders and lessors on a wide variety of cross-border aviation financing, leasing and trading transactions in both the commercial and business aviation sector.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Zoe worked for a leading international aircraft leasing company. She also spent five years working for a leading international airline based in the UAE. Zoe trained and spent a number of years working at a top aviation law firm in London, Paris and Hong Kong.
Zoe graduated from the University of Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2007.
