Yingling Aviation has successfully completed a first installation of Starlink connectivity on a Bombardier Global.

The installation provides high-speed, low-latency internet access in flight for passengers. According to Yingling, the aircraft’s operator selected Starlink for its unlimited data, cost-effective pricing and ease of use.

“My Principal needs to be connected 24/7 with his business. Cost was a huge driver, and we decided to go with this new player in connectivity, Starlink,” said Mike Carney, director of Aviation at Yingling.

“The unlimited WiFi with no contract and month-to-month flexibility was a major factor. The app is very user-friendly and allows you to track usage.  Our test flight was flawless – speeds were exceptionally fast, even with 10 users streaming simultaneously. During testing, crew members used WiFi for live weather satellite streaming while others were on their phones, yet we still saw speeds up to 290 Mbps in flight and over 800 Mbps on the ground, with no delays or latency issues.”

Wichita-based Yingling’s avionics team handled the installation into the Bombardier Global airframe.

“We’re excited to offer Starlink as a connectivity solution for our customers,” said Josh Peterson, avionics technical sales manager at Yingling. “This installation underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and top-tier service. With Starlink, operators can now enjoy high-speed internet without the limitations of traditional satellite systems.”
