Yingling Aviation celebrating 80th anniversary

Yingling Aviation was established in 1946 with one aircraft, owned by the founder.
Yingling Aviation is marking its 80th year in business throughout 2026 with a series of events to highlight the company’s heritage and vision for the future.
The Wichita, Kansas-based company’s story began in 1946 with one aircraft, owned by the founder Vic Yingling who wanted a dependable shop to care for his asset. It was initially known as Yingling Aircraft.
The company was operated by the Yingling family until 1982, when it was sold to Jerry Vanier, and later purchased by Lynn Nichols in 2000.
“80 years in aviation is simply amazing,” said Chris Short, chief operating officer of Yingling Aviation. “This legacy has been driven by our people and the trust of our customers. Generations of teammates have built something special here, and we are proud to carry that forward.”
Today, the company provides a full roster of MRO services with 400-plus employees and more than 500,000sqft (46,500sqm) of facilities. Services include aircraft maintenance, avionics, interiors, paint, propeller and engine services, parts support and FBO operations.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we recognise the people who made it possible,” added Short. “Our employees, customers, and partners have shaped who we are. Their trust continues to move us forward.”
Yingling will commemorate the anniversary throughout the year with storytelling, customer engagement and industry events, the company stated the press release.
