West Star Aviation has appointed Jason Taylor as chief information Officer (CIO) to support the company’s enterprise technology strategy, data and analytics and cybersecurity priorities.

As the company continues investing in digital tools and platforms, Taylor will play a vital role in aligning technology with business outcomes, West Star stated in a press release.

“Information and technology sit at the heart of aviation today,” said Stephen Maiden, CEO of West Star Aviation. “We intend to lead the industry in leveraging technology to drive efficiency, improve turn times, and elevate the customer experience.

“With a nationwide footprint and thousands of aircraft touch points each year, Jason’s expertise is essential. He strengthens an already solid foundation by sharpening our tools, protecting our data, and putting clear, timely information in the hands of our teams and customers.”

Taylor has served as CIO and global chief technology officer at RS Americas and as vice president of Global Digital and Innovation at Gates Corporation.

His experience includes delivery of technology to support customer digital experiences, leading multiyear SAP S/4HANA programmes, consolidating more than 1,000 applications into core platforms and introducing AI and automation. He has also built enterprise data platforms and established cybersecurity programmes aligned to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ISO 27001, a globally recognised, certifiable standard for establishing an Information Security Management System.

At West Star, Taylor will drive digital innovation, improvements in system reliability, data accessibility, and cybersecurity.

Back in June, the company named Jeff Messmer manager of technical sales to support the company’s operations at Perryville Regional Airport, Missouri.

It also opened a new satellite location at Addison Airport in Texas, its fifth satellite and first in the Dallas area.
