The FBO based at London Stansted will be completely refurbished by the time the 2012 London Olympics begin

The Universal Aviation FBO
at London Stansted will undergo a complete refurbishment, the work should be
completed by the start of the 2012 London Olympics.

“The complete
renovation, both internally and externally, of our Universal Aviation Stansted
facilities is a continuation of our ongoing commitment to meet and exceed the
expectations of our regional and international customers,” said Jonathan
Howells, vice president, Europe, the Middle East and Africa,
Universal. “These renovations are part of our continuing efforts to
enhance our customers’ experience at Universal Aviation locations
around the world.”

“As the closest 24/7
business airport with direct road and rail access to the Olympic Park, Stansted
was already an attractive option for operators traveling to the London
Olympics,” said Sean Raftery, managing director, Universal Aviation UK and
Ireland. “We feel that the complete renovation of our Stansted FBO,
combined with the already built-in advantages of Stansted, such as ample
parking, the ability to handle large aircraft up to a Boeing 747, and slot
availability, will ensure a seamless and first-rate experience for our
clients.”

The refurbishment includes
additional and remodelled lounges, meeting rooms, shower and changing rooms,
crew business rooms, crew lounge and free Wi-Fi.

Jason Hayward, general
manager at Universal UK said it’s not too late to plan a trip to the London
Olympics.

Hayward said “As with any trip to a major world event,
the key to success is pre-planning. We’ve been working behind the scenes for
over a year planning for the influx of traffic to the games, and are available
to provide consultation to operators planning a trip. We will work with them to
review their schedule and plan every step, from selecting the best airport to
operate to based on the events they are attending, to securing and confirming
slots, parking, hotels, catering, and security.”

“We’ve always been
uniquely equipped to assist operators, thanks to our European Operations Centre
trip support and flight planning experts onsite,” said Raftery.
“We’re excited to take our facilities to the next level so that they match
our high standards of safety and customer service. I am confident that
operators choosing Universal Aviation UK for their London Olympics trips will
be impressed with both our facility and service.”
