RUAG Aviation has remarketed a Dornier 328-100 turboprop aircraft as a fixed-price, turnkey package solution. The entire project was realised and fulfilled by the RUAG Dornier 228 and 328 maintenance and support centre at Bern-Belp, Switzerland.

“Buyers and sellers of pre-owned aircraft have their own specific list of priorities for reducing risk in a remarketing transaction.”

Simon Hafele, general manager, RUAG Aviation Bern, said: “Buyers and sellers of pre-owned aircraft have their own specific list of priorities for reducing risk in a remarketing transaction. In this case, our buyer required an aircraft that was certified and immediately available for operations. At the same time, the seller of the pre-owned aircraft preferred to limit any further investment on their part.”

Bridging these priorities, RUAG Aviation purchased the Dornier 328 under exclusive contract from the previous owner. In turn, RUAG satisfied the requirements of the purchasing operator, Dornier Aviation Nigeria AIEP Limited.

The Dornier 328 team at the RUAG Bern facility performed all support services, heavy maintenance inspections, minor interior modifications, MRO of components and subsystems, OEM service bulletins (SB), airworthiness directives (AD), and spare parts sourcing.

Hafele said: “Transparency during all phases of the remarketing process is essential for earning the trust of all parties concerned in the transaction. We add to that with outstanding Dornier 328 expertise and comprehensive aircraft heavy maintenance and support and consulting services.”

RUAG is an authorised service centre for Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Bombardier, Cirrus, Diamond, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Leonardo, Piaggio, Sikorsky, Textron Aviation, and Piper. It is also a service centre for 328 Support Services, Viking and MD Helicopters.
