Piper says M600 orders up in third quarter
Piper Aircraft says the order intake for its M600 turboprop increased in the third quarter of 2017.
The company’s president and CEO, Simon Caldecott, made the comment in a press release about Piper’s third quarter results.
Caldecott said that sales of the M600 and other M series aircraft continued to grow, adding that they were leading the sales expansion for the company.
The manufacturer delivered the first M600 in July 2016, and eventually delivered a total of 22 M600s for the full year.
By the end of the third quarter of 2017, Piper had already delivered 23 M600s, with just under half of those delivered in the second quarter.
“In Q3, our continued investments across all of our products as well as our commitment to a made to order business model has helped drive another quarter of strong growth and sales expansion and has also resulted in the lowest dealer inventory levels that we have seen in five years,” said Caldecott.
As well as the M series of turboprop aircraft, Piper manufactures a series of smaller piston-driven general aviation aircraft.
