The Philippine Air Force signs contracts for eight AgustaWestland AW109 Power aircraft.

AgustaWestland has announced that the Philippine Air Force has signed a contract for eight AW109 Power helicopters. Deliveries will begin in 2014 and the aircraft will be used in roles such as security, reconnaissance and close support.

Daniele Romiti, chief executive officer, AgustaWestland said: “It gives us great pleasure to sign this contract with the Philippine Air Force, further reinforcing the already strong partnership with the Department of National Defence.”

“This latest achievement provides clear evidence of the customer’s confidence in the product while we’ve demonstrated that we are a reliable partner, able to offer a cost-effective solution.
