PHI orders 10 AW139s

PHI, the US helicopter company, has signed a contract for 10 new AgustaWestland medium twin helicopters which will be used for off-shore missions.

“PHI’s order further confirms the already impressive success of the AW139 as the best selling medium twin helicopter among major players in the offshore world marketplace,” said Emilio Dalmasso, senior vice president commercial business unit, AgustaWestland.

Based in Lafayette, Louisana, PHI specializes in flights to offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. It has also operated in over 40 countries and flies from 45 heliports in the US. The company’s medical group operates 60 specially designed helicopters for a range of US healthcare providers. PHI also sells technical support to other helicopter owners. As well as helicopter’s PHI also operates some business jet charter services.
