Mylene ScholnickMylène Scholnick, a former NetJets, MetroJet and TAG Asia manager, has launched Lenoma a new consultancy specialising in aviation finance and strategy.

She leaves Skyworks Capital a boutique investment bank focused on commercial aviation finance advisory where she was a senior vice president for more than five years. Before Skyworks, Scholnick spent over 15 years in business aviation, much of it in Asia. “Skyworks gave me experience of commercial aviation finance to add to my business jet market knowledge and it allows me to bridge the two markets.”

Her first two clients reflect this mix. One is an aircraft manufacturer which she is advising on US strategy and marketing and the other is Costa Rican airline Nature Air which operates four Twin Otter Vistaliners and one Beechcraft King Air E90.

Initially a banker at Paribas, Scholnick started her aviation career at TAG Aviation (then Aeroleasing) in Geneva before helping to launch its Singapore subsidiary. As regional director for six years she also opened offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing. She stayed in the region moving to Hong Kong to launch business jet operator Metrojet in partnership with the Kadoorie Family. As managing director, she was responsible for getting an operator’s license just days before the UK handed the territory to China.

She served also served as senior vice president of international business development at NetJets between 1999 and 2003. At NetJets she specialised in Asia including working with China’s CAAC on general aviation legal framework.

“It is amazing how quickly Asia’s business jet market has changed since I first went to the region,” says Scholnick, “and there are still great opportunities.”

Scholnick is also very active in International Aviation Women Association an organization that promotes and supports women working in all aspects of aviation.
