Metrojet has welcomed its 10th Gulfstream G650ER making the firm the largest single fleet operator of the aircraft in Hong Kong. MD , Aircraft Management and Charter, Denzil White said Metrojet expects Asian business aviation to begin recovery later this year and the fleet addition is in line with that.

“We are optimistic that the Asia business jet environment will start to recover later this year, in line with the reduction of quarantine requirements,” said White. “We congratulate and thank our professional team for delivering this beautiful aircraft from Savannah to Hong Kong, safely and on time during the very challenging circumstances of a global pandemic.”

Metrojet’s Hong Kong MRO station is a Gulfstream authorised service centre and has the capability to maintain the OEM’s series up to 8C inspection. Earlier this month the station completed its first 6C inspection on a Gulfstream G650 aircraft. The inspection, working under Covid-19 restrictions, was completed within 25 days.

“Despite having such a busy schedule, it is truly commendable that our team managed to complete all the tasks within the month,” said Dave Yip, general manager, Metrojet Hong Kong MRO station. “We are very pleased that both new and repeat customers place their trust in us, knowing that we have the right talent in place dedicated to providing both a quality and timely level of service.”
