MENA Aerospace awards hangar building work to Hafeera Contracting and hangar doors contract to Megadoors of Sweden

MENA Aerospace Enterprises
has awarded Hafeera Contracting Company the contract on its general aviation
and hangar complex at Bahrain
International Airport.

The company also awarded the
contract to supply and install the hangar doors to Megadoor AB, a Swedish
company, who are the World leaders in vertically lifting hangar doors.

At the signing ceremony,
MENA Aerospace’s managing director, Dr Mohamed Juman said “We are pleased
about this contract award, and we look forward to working with Hafeera and
Megadoor. With this appointment, we are continuing the assembling of a skilled
group of professionals who will constitute the foundations of this unique,
pioneering project. We are certain that this project will continue the
established momentum which Bahrain Airports Company and the Bahrain Civil
Aviation Affairs have started towards making Bahrain a regional aviation
hub.”

Hafeera Contracting
Company’s executive chairman, Isa Mohammed Abdul Rahim said “We are
looking forward to working with MENA Aerospace and its team on this project as
it is the first if its kind for the airport and the first in Bahrain. Working
on airport projects is always more challenging due to its operational, security
and regulatory requirements. However, with good coordination and cooperation
amongst all the stakeholders, we are certain that we will complete this project
on time, on budget and with the quality of workmanship Hafeera is known
for.”

Derek Salmons, the area
sales manager, for Megadoor in the Middle East region said “We are very
proud to be associated, with this project, especially because MENA Aerospace
are aiming to be one of the first aerospace companies in the Middle East to
have a LEED compliant MRO and hangar facility, which is a requirement for which
our doors are ideally suited. We look forward to working very closely with MENA
Aerospace to complete the project which will be seen as an example to the rest
of the region.”

In late December 2010,
Bahrain Airport Company signed an agreement with MENA Aerospace to build and
operate one of the region’s larger private and general aviation hangar
complexes. The deal involves MENA Aerospace investing in the development of a
dedicated general and private aviation complex at Bahrain International Airport
(BIA) to provide comprehensive maintenance and support services to private and
corporate aircraft.
