Magellan Jets is launching a new fractional ownership programme.

Magellan Jets is offering a new Challenger 850 fractional ownership programme after agreeing a joint venture with operator Slate Aviation.

“Fractional ownership is the fastest growing segment in private aviation,” Anthony Tivnan, founder and president of Magellan Jets told CJI. “Clients are increasingly seeking solutions that provide guaranteed access, consistent in-flight experiences, and predictable costs without the complexities of whole jet ownership.” The new ownership programme is designed to bridge that gap, affording clients the benefits of ownership while avoiding challenges such as maintenance and storage.

The programme is designed to serve clients originating flights in the north-east and south-east US, with routes spanning the country, Canada and the Caribbean. Fractional owners receive significant credits and benefits, including guaranteed repurchase terms, according to the company. Shares start at 60 hours annually for a three-year term length, with supplemental lift advantages and roll-over flexibility in the event of under flown and over-flown hours.

Judging the success of the joint venture will be based on clients’ satisfaction and continued loyalty. “Early demand has already exceeded expectations,” said Tivnan. “But long-term success will be defined by our ability to maintain unmatched flexibility, deliver seamless experiences, and consistently uphold Magellan Jets’ reputation for excellence in private aviation.

The ability to become a be a share owner in Bombardier Challenger 850 “at an accessible price point” is what distinguishes Magellan Jets fractional ownership programme, said Tivnan. The company offers zero blackout dates, dedicated client experience team members, and 24/7/365 flight availability, he added. It also said to provide flexible terms, guaranteed repurchase opportunities and supplemental lift options.

The Challenger 850 offers seating for up to 19 passengers. The aircraft has a range of 3,235 miles (5,206km). With a service ceiling of 41,000ft (12,500m), the aircraft has a cruise speed of 509mph (819kph). The business jet can link London and Québec, Dubai and Bangkok and Beijing and Mumbai.

“Featuring brand new interiors, the aircraft provides an ideal environment for business travellers seeking productivity, families prioritising privacy and comfort, and musicians, golfers and athletes that require extra luggage storage,” according to Magellan Jets.

Demand for fractional ownership is growing because it offers a practical alternative to whole ownership, said Tivnan. “Clients want the accessibility and reliability of having their own aircraft without the large upfront investment and operational burdens. At a time when travel needs are more dynamic than ever, fractional ownership delivers the perfect blend of personalisation, value, and peace of mind, he claimed. Fractional investments may also qualify for depreciation incentives or other tax benefits.

Magellan’s new fractional programme joins its range of business jet services, which include: jet cards, on-demand charter flights and aircraft sales and management.
In April, the company recruited PGA Tour star Will Zalatoris to join its professional golf team in a move designed to highlight Magellan Jets’s role as travel provider to professional and recreational golfers.

Slate Aviation operates more than  3,500 flights each year and is one of the US’s largest operators of Challenger 850 and VIP Bombardier regional jet aircraft.
