Lufthansa Technik installs split scimitar winglets on BBJ

Lufthansa Technik AG is the first MRO provider in Europe to install split scimitar winglets on a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).

The aircraft is the third BBJ in the world to be equipped with the new winglets from Aviation Partners Boeing, and took 10 days to complete.

The new winglets have been on the market since early 2014. They enable fuel savings of 2.2%, as well as increasing the aircraft’s range.
