Garmin automates flight logging with PlaneSync

Pilots using Garmin avionics can now automatically share aircraft flight logs and receive customised reports on engine health, maintenance updates, flight analysis and more.
The new abilities are thanks to Garmin completing an integration with multiple aircraft analysis services including FlySto, Crewchief Systems and Savvy Aviation. The new service integrations, coupled with a PlaneSync subscription, allow aircraft owners to get the most out of the data their Garmin avionics, said the company.
When appropriately equipped, an aircraft flight log can include GPS track, attitude information, engine data, aircraft total time, departure time, CO levels and more. Following the flight, the data can be automatically uploaded to flyGarmin.com via datalink and PlaneSync service.
Data can also be transferred from compatible avionics via the Flight Stream 510 wireless gateway, which transfers aircraft flight logs to the Garmin Pilot app for uploading to flyGarmin.com.
Aircraft owners can access their flight logs via flyGarmin.com, where they can complete actives such as flight reviews and data playback. With new flyGarmin.com integrations, aircraft owners can now opt-in to share their flight logs automatically with many different service providers.
Analysis services supporting this integration option include:
- FlySto
- Crewchief Systems
- Savvy Aviation
- Flight Schedule Pro
- novoFlight
- Navi
All data analysis integrations are managed through flyGarmin.com. Once sharing is enabled, all current and future flight logs for the selected aircraft will be automatically shared with the service provider. Access to future logs can be changed at any time.
Additionally, flyGarmin.com users that connect their accounts can take advantage of new offerings from Savvy Aviation and Crewchief Systems at no additional cost. With SavvyConnect, aircraft owners are provided a suite of key diagnostic reports that help users monitor their engine’s performance. Crewchief Essentials helps aircraft owners digitise, organise and share aircraft records, as well as monitor AD compliance and more.
