TRAQPak analysts forecast North American activity to increase 4.3% year-on-year in July 2026, with European activity estimated to grow 0.7%.

Global business aviation flight activity grew 3.4% year-on-year in June 2026, with North America up 2.2% and Europe edging 0.1% higher, according to ARGUS TRAQPak data. The result means every month of the first half of 2026 finished in positive territory, with overall H1 activity up 3.5% compared to H1 2025.

Year-on-year: Fractional carries the market

The fractional sector was again the primary driver of North American growth, posting a 10.4% year-on-year increase. The largest individual segment gain came from the large jet fractional market, up 13.3%. Part 135 charter activity rose 2.0%, while Part 91 owner-operator flying declined 1.1% – continuing a trend that has persisted through much of the year.

By aircraft category, turboprops led with a 4.6% annual gain, followed by light jets at 3.9% and mid-size jets at 1.1%. Large jets were the only category to decline, finishing down 3.3%. Nine of the twelve individual segments tracked by TRAQPak were positive for the month.

Beyond North America, the picture was more varied. Europe was essentially flat year-on-year at plus 0.1%, while Africa, Asia, Australia and South America posted the strongest collective performance, up 11.0% with every jet segment recording double-digit gains.

Month-on-month: North up, south down

On a month-over-month basis, total North American activity fell 2.1% from May – an expected seasonal result given one fewer calendar day in June, though the market still recorded 115 more flights per day. Part 91 was the only operational category to post a monthly increase, up 0.5%, while Part 135 fell 3.3% and fractional was off 5.0%.

Regionally within North America, gains were concentrated in the northern half of the country. The Pacific Northwest saw the sharpest monthly jump, up 24% from May. Canadian activity rose 7.4%, while the Caribbean fell 16.1% – the two markets combined still managed a 1.0% net monthly gain.

In Europe, monthly activity told a different story, posting a healthy 17.5% increase from May, with large cabin jets rising 26.4%. Across the remaining global regions, monthly activity declined 7.1%.

Looking ahead, TRAQPak analysts forecast North American activity to increase 4.3% year-on-year in July 2026, with European activity estimated to grow 0.7%.
