ExecuJet, part of the Luxaviation Group, will move its FBO and MRO operations in Dubai to a new facility at Dubai South’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

Building work is due to begin on the new 25,700 sq m facility early next year, and is due to be completed at the end of 2019.

It will be the business aviation organisation’s Middle East headquarters, and will house an FBO, MRO services with 13,800 sq m of onsite hangar space, and offices for support services. The FBO and MRO line-team, currently in place at DWC, will continue to carry out maintenance 12 hours a day, seven days a week, supported by a 24-hour AOG hotline.

ExecuJet currently manages two facilities in Dubai: one at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and a temporary facility at DWC. They both provide FBO and MRO services. The DXB facility comprises eight VIP lounges with landside access, a duty free shop, ground handling and flight planning services, while the DWC facility has four VIP lounges, a crew lounge and two transit lounges.

Mike Berry, executive vice president aviation services at ExecuJet’s parent company, Luxaviation Group, said the Middle East is a key region for the Group, providing about 20% of its business. “It is therefore essential that our facilities reflect this demand and it brings me great pleasure to be announcing our relocation to a much larger site at Al Maktoum.”

ExecuJet operates in Africa, Asia Pacific, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America, as well as the Middle East, managing 165 business jets and running 25 FBO facilties worldwide. It also provides maintenance services in four of those regions, and operates its commercial fleet under six regional air operating certificates.

Luxaviation began operating in Dubai in 1999. It opened a shared, single-lounge FBO facility eight years later, with a team of four ExecuJet employees. “We have come an exceptionally long way in that time and our proposed expansion reflects the ambitious nature of everybody associated with the business,” Berry added.

“We look forward to welcoming customers to our new facility when it opens its doors in 2019.”
