Citadel Aviation acquires Gulfstream AOG specialist Mach 1 Aviation Group

Citadel Aviation has agreed to acquire Mach 1 Aviation Group, a Savannah, Georgia-based FAA Part 145 repair station specialising in Gulfstream AOG response and airframe, avionics and cabin systems support.
With this acquisition, Citadel is adding an East Coast presence and rapid-response capability to its maintenance platform.
The deal, expected to close by the end of September, brings in a team of former Gulfstream master technicians with more than 100 years of combined experience across avionics, SATCOM, cabin communications, engine and airframe systems and entry-into-service programmes.
Mach 1 was founded in 2020 by Richard Bennett, Derek Johnston and Ben Venuti, and serves the majority of Part 135 operators in its market alongside a substantial Part 91 owner base.
“Mach 1 has built a reputation for answering the phone and being wheels-up within hours, anywhere in the world,” said Greg Colgan, CEO of Citadel Aviation. “Pairing that responsiveness with Citadel’s depth in maintenance, modification, interior refurbishments and upgrades means an owner has access to a more comprehensive suite of services.”
Mach 1 will continue operating under its existing FAA certificate and retain current customer commitments, with its Savannah base becoming an East Coast service and AOG coordination point for Citadel.
Mach 1 customers gain access to Citadel’s full nose-to-tail capabilities including MRO, cabin refurbishment, engineering and connectivity upgrades across narrow and wide-body VIP aircraft.
The acquisition is Citadel’s third major capability expansion in under a year. The company rebranded from Citadel Completions in January 2026, secured 13 new VIP aircraft projects in that month alone and opened operations at Dallas Love Field in March.
It has completed 48 aircraft projects to date.
