Bombardier says that it will deliver the first of its new Global 7500 business jets on December 20, 2018.

The first aircraft will be handed over during a special ceremony at the company’s Montreal Dorval Airport facility, to an unidentified customer.

The Global 7500 was originally announced as the Global 7000 in October 2010, alongside the smaller, but longer-range, Global 8000.

Earlier in 2018 Bombardier unveiled updated versions of its current generation Global 5000 and Global 6000, called the Global 5500 and Global 6500.

Several days later Bombardier changed the name of the Global 7000 to the Global 7500 to fall in line with the new naming convention.

The first delivery will take place a month and half after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted the Global 7500 its type certificate.

Canada’s aviation authorities Transport Canada handed the Global 7500 its type certificate on September 28.
