Bombardier is buying the Saint-Laurent facilities of bankrupt ExelTech Aerospace allowing it to grow its completion business.

The facility will fit out Global 5000 and Global Express XRS business jets.

“The acquisition of the ExelTech facility positions us to better serve our customers with the highest quality completions for our flagship Global business aircraft,” said Steve Ridolfi, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Bombardier is buying the facility from Richter, the receiver of ExelTech Aerospace, and the deal needs to be approved by the Superior Court of Quebec.

The manufacturer hopes to have the 115,000 square foot (10,684 square metre) hangar open by the fourth quarter of 2010.
