Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (SHPBAC) is once agin hosting the ABACE show which starts tomorrow. This is the fourth occasion that the company has welcomed the event.

George Lu, deputy general manager of SHPBAC, said: “We are proud to play host to the event. ABACE has been vital for bringing business aviation to life in Asia and we think it particularly helps Shanghai as being seen as a hub for business aviation.”

Lu added: “Construction for the show requires several weeks of lead time, and NBAA, Hongqiao Airport, and Shanghai Hawker Pacific have to all work closely together to coordinate and make the show happen.  We normally don’t have general aviation aircraft or helicopters at the airport, so we have the element of coordination with ATC and the CAAC to help get approvals for the planes to get here. In the end, it all comes together and we are very proud of the calibre of the show and the importance it plays for business aviation in Asia.”

The Shanghai Hawker Pacific FBO remains opens throughout the show, but Lu says a number of flights have to be diverted to Pudong International during the event. “We work hard to balance the smooth functioning of the event along with the expectations of our regular Shanghai customers as possible,” he said.

The Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (SHPBAC), located in Hongqiao Airport, opened in April 2010. It is a joint venture between Shanghai Airport Authority and Hawker Pacific.
