Bombardier Global 7500 now holds more speed records than any other business jet

Bombardier’s Global 7500 business jet has now set 135 speed records, the most ever by a single business aircraft type.
Some of the aircraft’s city-pair speed records include Tokyo to San Francisco, London to Riyadh, Oakland to Tokyo, Hartford to Dubai, Tokyo to Toronto and Montreal to Paris.
“This is the ultimate recognition, the most speed records of all time – and it’s precisely what Bombardier’s discerning customers need: a reliable, fast, efficient business tool that gets them to destination quickly and efficiently,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, executive vice president, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense.
“Even more impressive is the fact some of these records have been set with passengers on board in varying conditions and airports. It’s a testament to how well engineered the aircraft is, ensuring customers fully benefit from the aircraft’s outstanding performance attributes for their everyday important missions.”
Earlier achievements on the Global 7500 include the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation – an 8,225nm flight from Sydney to Detroit.
Last week, Bombardier inaugurated its new Innovation and Design Centre located at the manufacturer’s facilities in greater Montreal, Canada. The centre will provide the space and means to drive customer-centric design and innovation projects independently of aircraft development programmes.
Earlier in the month, Bombardier revealed firm order for a mix of 50 Challenger and Global aircraft, combined with a “first-of-a-kind” service agreement.
Together, the aircraft and service agreements are valued at $1.7bn with deliveries set to begin in 2027.
The first-time customer will also hold purchase options for 70 additional aircraft. If all options are exercised, the deal value would reach more than $4bn, according to Bombardier.
