Swiss-based Vertis Aviation, part of the 28 East Group, is celebrating the first anniversary of its central London office this month.

The Kensington office of Vertis Aviation UK Limited, headed by managing director and Vertis Aviation partner, Julian Burrell, has brokered several hundred private aircraft charters since launching in January 2013.

Much of the new business appears to be leisure charters from Russia and the Middle East. Another area of growth is West Africa, particularly in the oil and gas industry. Nice, Ibiza, Malaga and Miami continue to be popular with clients in the summer months as well as skiing destinations, which was reflected in WINGX Advance’s latest European business aviation monitor.

Burrell said: “We are delighted to be celebrating the first birthday of the Vertis London office. We have experienced a very successful year building the Vertis brand in the UK with its reputation for excellence in personalised service, knowledgeable staff and a highly customer focussed approach. We look forward to continued growth over the next 12 months and as a result of the success will be adding another highly knowledgeable charter broker to the team soon.”

Vertis Aviation has seven long-range business available for charter: a Bombardier Global 6000, two Airbus ACJ319s, two Bombardier Global XRS aircraft, a Bombardier Global Express and a Dassault Falcon 7X.

The large cabin, long-range fleet including the ACJ319 and Global XRS has proved popular with London customers heading to Russia, while passengers flying to the Middle East favour the Bombardier Challenger 605 and Embraer Legacy 650.

Vertis also operates from the company’s headquarters in Zug, Switzerland and from the recently opened Dubai World Central Airport.
