Flight Safety International has promoted John Van Maren to vice president, Simulation, replacing Rick Armstrong who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

“We are pleased to promote John Van Maren to Vice President, Simulation,” said Bruce Whitman, president & CEO. “John is a valuable and well respected member of our management team. His leadership skills, understanding of Customer requirements, and ability to effectively manage our simulation activities, made him the ideal choice for this important role. We thank Rick Armstrong for his contributions to FlightSafety and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Van Maren joined FlightSafety in 1984 and most recently served as director of Programs and Customer Support. Van Maren holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, and a degree in Applied Science, Electronics Technology, from the Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Missouri.
