TCRA welcomes first tenant into its first corporate jet hangar at airport

The Tri-Cities Airport
Commission of Blountville, Tennessee
recently opened its new corporate aviation hangar and welcomed its first
tenant, Gregory Management Company. Designed as a multi-tenant facility, the hangar
will accommodate two medium-to-large business aircraft with wing spans of up to
65 feet and tail heights up to 25 feet. The hangar includes office space and flight
planning offices for crew and maintenance personnel, allowing tenants to
operate self-sufficient corporate flight departments. Currently, half of the
hangar is available for lease.

“The Airport Commission’s
goal in building this hangar is to provide aviation support facilities that are
attractive to companies that need to maintain corporate flight departments for
their world-wide travel needs,” said TCRA executive director Patrick Wilson.

The new hangar is located on
the south side of the airfield in an area reserved for corporate aviation
operations. The hangar includes appropriate security, ramp lighting and taxiway
access lanes. The Airport Commission has spent the past four years preparing
the site to accommodate up to six corporate hangars and building an access road
and taxiways to the hangar sites.
