Premier League football fixtures create high-demand for private air charter

There has been a surge in interest for private jet charter in the UK, following this morning’s release of the fixture list for football (soccer) teams competing in the upcoming Barclays Premier League.

Alex Sadat-Shafai, manager of Air Charter Service’s commercial jets department, said: “We are already booking flights for league games and have been extremely busy since 9:00 am, as the clubs know that booking this early secures the best rates for their away games.”

He added: “With coach driving times anywhere up to eight or nine hours each way for some trips, a chartered flight of around an hour makes a lot more sense.”

“There are certain teams, up and down the leagues, in the extremities of the country who regularly use aircraft charters for their matches, especially when there are midweek games involved and fixture congestion becomes a problem.”

Sadat-Shafai also noted that the first draw for the Champions’ League and Europa League qualifying rounds taking place next week will continue to keep charter companies busy.
