British International Helicopters plans a new helipad at St Erth

British International Helicopters (BIH) will
put on public display their plans for a new helipad at St Erth, as the Penzance helipad will be closed soon. Tony Jones, chief executive, BIH
believes that will make connecting transport links more user-friendly. At the
moment 20% of helicopter passengers start or end their journey to Penzance by train.

The plans will be available to the public on
the 18 and 19 August at St Erth. Other local improvements are included in the
£10m plan, extra car parking spaces, an improved A30 road
junction and a park and ride bus service between St Ives and Penzance calling at the helipad.

The St Erth railway cafe will also be
upgraded and the plans will presented to the local authorities in September.
