Pilatus reopens PC-24 order book
Pilatus has reopened the order book for its new PC-24 Super Versatile Jet.
The manufacturer closed the order book five years ago on almost the very day that the aircraft launched in May 2014, after receiving 84 orders for the aircraft.
Pilatus says that it closed the order book after 36 hours, as it wanted to ensure the smooth transition into operation of the first batch of aircraft.
“Demand for the PC-24 is phenomenal. From day one, there has been keen interest from various customer segments all over the world,” says Oscar J. Schwenk, chairman, Pilatus. “Feedback from the first 30 PC-24 operators is extremely positive, with special mention for the aircraft’s versatility, its spacious, quiet cabin and the incredible performance of the PC-24. These remarks plus the high degree of attention which the aircraft commands all confirm our chosen PC-24 strategy.”
The first PC-24 was delivered to launch customer PlaneSense in February 2018. In its first 15 months of operations the aircraft has flown on 1,500 hours.
As of May this year, Pilatus has delivered 30 PC-24 jets, including three that are in operation with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia.
